About Us

How Art of Inclusion Got Started

From one, many: in a time of unrest of our nation, Tyler Marcus noticed an art mural in Downtown Naperville that did not capture the growing diversity of our city. He posted his thoughts on social media, then started a petition to revamp that mural to be inclusive of all races and ethnicities. In just one month, over 47,000 people had signed on to his idea. In June 2020, as a response to his plea, Art of Inclusion was formed. We stated our mission, formed a steering committee of business owners, professionals, artists, and interested parties. We began exploring potential art projects throughout Naperville. Now a 501 (c) (3) non-profit with talented and passionate volunteers, Art of Inclusion seeks to fund public projects that project unity through art, starting with our NAPERVILLE TOGETHER street painting on September 26, 2020.
